Settings Parameters

Most people never need to touch these — the defaults are tuned to work well out of the box. This page documents what each one does, for when you want to fine-tune behavior on a slow connection, a very long page, or a fast-paced video.

  • windowTranslateSize (default 2,500) — maximum characters of source text translated per batch as you scroll.
  • minTextLength (default 5) — text nodes shorter than this are skipped entirely.
  • mainContentOnly (default on) — restrict translation to the extracted main content instead of the whole page; turn off if a page’s real content is being missed.
  • windowTriggerCount (default 5) — minimum number of new untranslated subtitle lines that must accumulate before a new batch is sent for translation.
  • windowTranslateCount (default 50) — maximum subtitle lines translated per batch.
  • asrMaxCharsPerLine (default 100) — maximum characters per line used when re-segmenting raw auto-generated captions into sentences.

If subtitles seem to lag behind playback, try lowering windowTriggerCount so batches fire sooner. If sentences are being cut in odd places, try adjusting asrMaxCharsPerLine.

Settings → Logs shows a local, per-request history of your translations (selection / full-page / subtitle), including the model used, token counts, and an estimated cost in USD. When the LLM provider’s response includes real usage data, that figure is used directly; otherwise cost is estimated from a lightweight character-based heuristic (accurate to roughly ±5%, not exact).

Logs — including short previews of the source and translated text — are stored only in your browser’s local database. They are never uploaded anywhere and never sync across devices, even for subscribers. You can clear them at any time from the Logs page.
